2. Remove the factory shifter boot and trim by gently lifting it up. It will simply "pop" off. 3. Remove the factory shifter handle by removing the two shifter handle bolts. 4. Install the new Billet Trick Stick using the supplied bolts. Torque to factory specifications. Then reinstall the factory shifter boot, trim and knob.
Start by turning the ignition to position 3, and shifting into 1. (make sure E-brake is on) Use an allen wrench to remove the one screw in the top of the shift handle and pop the knob off. Be careful not to pull to hard, as the O/D switch will be removed and reused. Now remove the bezel cover.

With a short shifter on my Tremek and Pro 5.0 in my 85 - sometimes I find myself having to lean forward a little trying to catch 3rd. Shouldn't need to do that now. I'm going to pick up an aftermarket shift boot like the old square Hurst Universal boots and bolt that into place rather than putting the factory boot on.
